Hot Cinnamon Sparkle

So the somewhat cooler weather has started me thinking & wishing for fall/winter. This recipe comes from my 5th grade teacher and is perfect for the winter holidays. Maybe I’ll actually make it for you all this Christmas! It is as follows…

1/4 c red grenadine syrup

1/4 c lemon juice

2 large cans of pineapple juice

9 oz bag of red hots

Mix all ingredients in a crock-pot to heat. When the red hots melt, serve and enjoy!

Day of Play

Lincoln considers himself a very lucky little boy to have three (soon to be four!) of his cousins live literally just up the road. Lily, Ruby, Jubal and Lincoln had quite a fun morning today. With the weather being absolutely beautiful we decided to go for a walk & have playtime back at the house. Lincoln treasures his time with cousins as they are all his “buddies”.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love”  – John 15:9

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.”  – Philippians 4:4

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is a testimony given at the proper time.”  – 1 Timothy 2:5-6

Between family and wonderful weather, today was truly a gift from God. But even in hard times I need to remember the love God shows and always rejoice in Him! By His grace are we even able to enjoy the time spent here on earth.

Good Morning

“I can do all things though Him who strengthens me”  -Philippians 4:13

“And my God will supply every need of yours according

to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”  -Philippians 4:19

It can be hard sometimes but what we see as a “need” , God does not. I think if we truly examine our “needs” we will find they are actually “wants” for our own pleasures and not for the glory of God.  A lesson God is showing us in our own lives.

This morning has started off great…Lincoln slept in till 8:30! That’s pretty late for him. But he’s been all energy since then. It’s interesting watching him wake up because he goes straight for his favorite things every morning. So what are some of Lincoln’s favorite things?   Here’s  10 :

1. his Bear

2. soy milk & chicken nuggets

3. wearing shoes but no shorts

4. the book ” The Icky Sticky Frog” byDawn Bently

5. talking about his cousin baby Bekah who lives in Guatemala

7. playdough

8. brushing his teeth

9. his dog Bella

10. playing hard with Daddy!

No-Bake Oatmeal Fudge Cookies

This is a great dessert recipe for those long hot days of summer when you absolutely don’t want to turn the oven on but still need some chocolate ASAP. Delicious and easy!

2 c sugar    3 tbsp cocoa powder    1/2 c butter    1/2 c milk     pinch of salt     3 c oats     1/2 c peanut butter    1 tsp vanilla

In saucepan bring sugar, cocoa powder, butter, milk & the pinch of salt to a rapid boil for 1 minute. Add the oats, peanut butter, vanilla and mix well. Drop by spoonful onto wax paper. Let cool till they harden and enjoy!

P.S.   This is one of my favorite cookie recipes and I have my wonderful sister, Briana, to thank for it!

Weir Family Blog Begins: August 23, 2010

To start things off, here is a picture of the inspiration that started this blog. You will find, when reading and following along with us, that we have  no medical cures to save the world, no popular charisma that will make you stock us. All you will find is that we are a family that is sharing a few of the small moments that we covet together with you. But only a few. That’s all for now.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10

Family Bicycling

Riding as a family is always good. This afternoon was no exception. We had a beautiful and fun ride.A little sweaty, but we kept moving so the wind did, too.  Lincoln rode rear on Michael’s bike and Christina rode solo.

"Don't Waste Your Life"

God created us to live with a single passion to joyfully display His supreme excellence in all the spheres of life. The wasted life is the life WITHOUT THIS PASSION.
