Lincoln in the LR

image

This picture sums up a lot about Lincoln without saying a word. Always wearing his helmet ready to get on another bike ride at a moments notice, always at the edge of every door and window, always looking out into the outdoors, waiting; sometimes patiently: asking every time to go up the hill in the landy. Always wild, ever sweet. SDG

This Day We Rest

23g and 90 Calories of digested food intake makes for an 8 hour wait for the OR.

19 hours ago we received the call from Christina’s doctor informing us that there had been a slight scheduling error: our C-Section appointment was booked on a day when she was to be in advanced training and therefore unavailable so we were given the abrupt choices of Wednesday, July 20th or Monday, July 25. After a very few sobering minutes, we chose what is now today.
Not that 24 hours will assume much of a distinct role in history on this matter, which we will realize by tomorrow, but we have become fully self-aware that when preparing for this surgery we put the most important things off to the last day.

So, now we’re in our room waiting all day for a re-scheduled birth. Anything but ordinary, within God’s supreme might. Anxious, but well prepared to rest in Christ.
4PM please come quickly.

2 Days and Counting…

The hard to forget details that would make one anxious are settling back down in our minds today as we prepare for the next few days. But we are working our way through Christina’s nesting task list. Today: Sam’s Club run for a month’s worth of groceries and one more of Christina’s nerves settled. Two days to go!

FYI Update: Christina has an 8am sonogram appointment at the hospital Thursday, July 21 and then the c-section appointment at 10am. Please keep both her and Vivien in your prayers!

One more thing to share with you today; resting in:

The Incomparable Christ

13  For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
14  in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
15  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16  For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18  He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19  For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,
20  and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

Rained Out

Possibly the best thing about working outside this week: it’s Thursday morning and I get to go home to be with my family.

A Child’s Imagination

This morning Lincoln and I have taken it very easy. With Frank Sinatra playing in the background, we made cakes (pretend, of course) for all of Lincoln’s cousins. But then he decided he needed to deliver them. First delivery was his cousin Jade. Lincoln went into his room to get dressed so we could “leave”.  After a couple of minutes he emerges in one very interesting outfit…sure to please Jade! Complete with a headlamp and snow boots we took off to deliver the cake. Here you go Jade…
